Smart Baked Apples
Ingredients
- 4 Medium apples
- 1/4 cup quick oats
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
- 1 heaped tablespoon stevia (or sweetener of choice)
- 2 tablespoons butter (softened)
- 2 'Apple Cinnamon' Smart Detour Bars (chopped in 1/4)
Directions
Step 1 | |
Preheat oven to 375 degrees and line an 8x8 baking dish with parchment paper or foil. Using an apple corer or small sharp knife, begin to remove the core of each apple (approximately 1.5" of the center). Place each apple in the baking dish. | |

In a small bowl, combine oats, spices, and butter. Mash butter into mixture until it resembles a crumble. Stir in chopped Smart bar. | |
Step 3 | |
Fill the center of each apple with crumble mixture. Bake for 35-45 minutes until apples are softened. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream. |
