As a self proclaimed “French Toast” queen, I thought I had it all figured out this past year.  I had stack upon stack upon stack of French toast in all kinds of flavors and different combinations of toppings.  They were all delicious but a couple of months ago, I started experimenting a bit more and I think my recipe for French Toast has been forever changed… nothing drastic at all, but I found that if you add Trutein protein powder TO the egg mixture, it not only adds extra flavor BUT it also makes the cooked bread much thicker and fluffier (VOLUME EATING)!!!  This little combination of vanilla, cinnamon AND the amazingly delicious (and addictive) Trader Joe’s Cookie Butter is a home run.  This stack, exactly as shown, has been my go to pre workout meal of choice for the past 2 months or so…. words can’t even describe the party in my mouth every day.

I had french toast last week as a pre-workout breakfast, but I ended up feeling really sick and woozy during my workout. I wondered if the protein was sitting in my stomach while the blood went to my muscles – have you ever experienced this?
