If you are looking for alcoholic beverages, I’m sorry to inform you these are not exactly what you may have had in mind! However, if you are into bodybuilding, weight training, rock climbing, running, spinning, crossfit, powerlifting, circuit training, dancing, swimming, organized sports, hiking, skateboarding, kayaking, surfing, or if you are one of those cardio bunnies on a stationery machine AND find you need a little boost of energy to get through your awesome activities… listen up my friends, this is a post I’m very very excited about!!!
So I realize that these are definitely not your average ‘cocktails” per se, but for someone who doesn’t drink alcohol, these drinks are about as fancy as it gets around here! I’ve mentioned many times before on Instagram that the only supplements I take and stand by are from PEScience. I’ve been using their products consistently & daily for at least 8 months or so and truly truly LOVE them. To be honest, I’m probably a little more addicted to them than I should be. Such high quality, great tasting, based on science and extensive testing, and for every phase of my journey I know the company has something that will help me reach my goals. Whether it be for a building phase, fat loss stage, maintenance, or energy, the company has something perfect for my needs.
One of my favorite products the company makes is ‘Alphamine‘!!!
This is a stimulant free fat burner/thermogenic and hardening agent that can be used everyday. I use it every day before my lifts! Aside from the crazy amazingly delicious flavors (appletini, margarita, fruit punch, strawberry pina colada, and cherry limeade), a few other things I love about this particular product:
- unlike other products I have used as a pre workout, Alphamine doesn’t give you the jitters, tingles in your palms & feet, shakes, or anxiety that most pre workout will result in
- there is no spike in energy so you won’t notice a HUGE crash towards the end of training… just a nice consistent & steady stream of energy from beginning to end
- this is a powdered product so you can easily adjust your serving size. If you need a bigger boost, no problem, take 2 scoops. If you are only doing some light cardio and don’t need a huge push, sure, take 1 scoop. If you are extremely sensitive to supplements like me, easy, start with 1/2 a scoop to assess your tolerance and adjust accordingly the following days.
Normally I will simply grab my shaker cup, fill it with water, decide which flavor I’m feeling that day (usually strawberry pina colada), pour in a scoop (scoop and a half on leg days), add some ice, shake shake shake, guzzle (after one taste, you will NOT be able to sip on this… the flavors and taste are THAT good. You will not want your drink to end!)! Then I will wait about 20-30 minutes to start training. I’m always super motivated to lift, but if I ever need something to get me going… Alphamine does the trick and I’m 100% all in, ready to kill whatever I have planned for the day.
The easy and simple shaker drinks are great on their own, but recently I decided to spice things up a bit and try a few new ways to enjoy my favorite pre workout “cocktails”. Granted these may take a few more steps than just grabbing a shaker cup and some water, but I assure you they are worth it, especially if you are feeling a little feisty and adventurous!!!! Cute & festive alcoholic drinks may be cool to some, but these “cocktails” are much cooler, better tasting, and will leave me feeling like I’m on top of the world.
An added bonus to these drinks? The nutritional profile won’t change drastically with the few added ingredients they include making these all very very macro friendly. So for not a lot of additional calories, you get an entirely new tasting drink!!!
Give just one a try, I promise you will not be disappointed and will want to try them ALL!
Cucumber Lime Margarita
- 10 ounces water
- zest & juice of 1/2 lime
- 75 grams cucumber
- 1.5 scoops ‘Margarita’ PEScience Alphamine
- 3/4 cup ice
** Add all ingredients in a high speed blender and mix until combined. **
Raspberry Lemonade Spritzer
- 3/4 cup water
- handful of raspberries
- 2 scoops ‘Raspberry Lemonade’ PEScience Alphamine
- zest & juice of 1/2 lemon
- 1/3 cup Lemon Lime Zevia
** Combine water, raspberries, Alphamine, and zest/juice of lemon in a shaker cup. Shake for 20-30 seconds until powder is dissolved and raspberries are slightly broken up. Serve over ice and top with Zevia. **
Fruit Cocktail Punch
- 1 cup water
- 1/4 cup fresh orange juice
- 1.5 scoops of ‘Fruit Punch’ PEScience Alphamine
- fruit of choice (oranges, cherries, strawberries, etc.)
** Combine water, juice, and Alphamine in a shaker cup. Shake for 20-30 seconds until powder is dissolved. Add sliced fruit. **
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 tbsp Walden Farms caramel dip
- 1.5 scoops of ‘Appletini’ PEScience Alphamine
** Combine water, Walden’s, Alphamine, and ice in a shaker cup. Shake for 20-30 seconds until powder is dissolved and dip is mixed in well. Add extra Walden’s dip to the rim of your glass. Pour drink into glass. **
And I have saved the absolutely BEST pre workout drink for last….
Hands down, this is my favorite pre workout of choice down to the PEScience supplement ‘stack’ (Alphamine & High Volume) and flavors. High Volume is another PEScience product that I could probably drink all day long (which probably isn’t a good idea so don’t do that haha). This is also considered a pre workout product that will give you the most insane “pumps” ever. The caffeine free powder (again perfect for you to adjust your own personal serving) is sure to unlock pathways to better performance and optimal vascularity!
Anytime I stack Alphamine and High Volume together, I’m FLYING through training and muscle pumps are unreal. If you need energy AND love seeing your hard earned muscles at work, this is the stack for you!!!
Did I mention how damn delicious it is? I can’t even express how good this ‘cocktail’ is!
Strawberry Pina Colada Cooler
- 1 1/2 cup water
- 1 scoop ‘Paradise Cooler’ High Volume
- 1.5 scoops of ‘Strawberry Pina Colada’ PEScience Alphamine
- 4-5 strawberries
- 1/2 cup ice
** Combine water, High Volume, Alphamine, and strawberries in a high speed blender and mix until combined. **
