‘Make ahead key lime strawberry breakfast parfaits are SO easy to make and loaded with protein to help fuel your kids day!’

I’m so fortunate to bring you another post sponsored by KidzShake!

Protein Powder For Kids

We’ve been fans of this amazing kids protein for years now and LOVE how versatile (and delicious) the product is.  Yes you could use this in smoothies and shakes, but did you know KidzShake is also wonderful for baking and even make ahead breakfasts?  Protein muffins and yogurt parfaits similar what I’m sharing today are SO easy to whip up and provide a GREAT source of the proper fuel your kids need to stay alert and energized when you send them off to school!

Since most parents struggle to get adequate protein into their kids diets, supplementing with KidzShake is an ideal option.  No funny ingredients, includes probiotics for healthy tummy’s, added fiber & vitamins, ZERO sugar, includes important omega- 3’s, and did you know its also ORGANIC protein???  Easily the HEALTHIEST protein powder available for children and again… an EASY way to get that much needed protein into their bodies!  Protein provide the building blocks for our bones, muscle, cartilage, skin, and blood.  Protein is in each and every single cell in our bodies and also contains amino acids that help produce enzymes and hormones.  Our bodies use this macronutrient to help aid in recovery, curb hunger, and maintain a healthy weight.

With everything that we are currently going through with my daughter’s medical condition, things have been hectic (to say the least).  One minute I feel like I can breathe for a few minutes and other times we are completely overwhelmed and can’t seem to catch even the smallest break in all of the chaos.  You can usually tell how much “extra” time I have on hand by the choice of Makena’s breakfast preps… sometimes I can go all out with something a bit more elaborate and other times when there is barely any time to think or breathe, I turn to make ahead options like these breakfast parfaits!  Beyond easy & quick, versatile, and since Makena loves them… it’s a win-win situation for everyone!

First you need some yogurt.  You could use any yogurt you like… flavored ones, Greek ones, whole milk ones, and even kefir!  Makena isn’t a fan of many yogurts, but the one she does like happens to have lots of yummy flavors AND is a lot lower in sugar than most.

Just add your yogurt to the high speed blender…

Then add in you KidzShake protein powder!  Since Makena loves the strawberry-lime combo I opted to bring extra strawberry flavor into the parfait by way of the protein AND fresh strawberries 🙂  You can add however many scoops you like, but I like to add about 1 serving PER day to these which would equal 10 scoops (for 5 days of breakfasts).

Also, since Makena is going through treatment right now and having daily tummy issues it’s extremely important to take care of her gut health.  KidzShake protein already has probiotics built right in, but I wanted to make sure there was enough of that good “bacteria” to help her stomach deal with the stress and problems that are coming along with her disease.  Fortunately, KidzShake has a WONDERFUL product called KidzSprinkles for added probiotics/enzymes/vitamins/and omega-3’s!  These can be “hidden” anywhere in your kids food or drinks and they won’t even know it’s there 🙂

Then divide and pour mixture into mason jars!  Glass is always best for storage and for reheating since plastics contain not so optimal things that disrupt the quality of foods (and nutrition)!

Add fresh chopped strawberries right on top of the yogurt mixture…

For added nutrients you could also add chia seeds, flax seeds, or even unsweetened coconut flakes for healthy fats!  The only other thing these parfaits will need is some crunch and texture.  We LOVE granola around here (my husband actually eats granola as his cereal now) so this was the obvious choice to add in… just make sure you add the granola right before you are serving the parfaits.  Otherwise, all your kiddo will be eating is mush… not so appetizing or delicious!

Breakfast prep for the ENTIRE week took all of about 2-3 minutes to “prepare”?  Does NOT get much easier than this friends!  With make ahead breakfast ideas like this, there is absolutely NO excuse why you would need to send your kids off to start their day filled with foods that won’t fuel them properly!!!  No complaining that you “don’t have the time for healthy meals”.  Do you kids a solid and give breakfast prep a try…. I promise it will change your life!
